Ellarslie Mansion Museum, in Cadwalader Park, Trenton, NJ

Photos of the tree assembly line

What can I say! They love the camera and where ever Mama is must be action.
This is Pepe, my little Tuxedo (well he is not little, he is HUGE -- you should see his feet!)

And this is Blue aka Scarface. Don't let the name fool you, he is a sweetheart.

Paper Christmas tree

I saw this idea in Somerset Life Magazine, by a woman named Martha Deavers.

I cut varied sized circles from an old book. I glued a wooden knob onto a dowel and glued that to several pieces of cardboard which were also glued together. This is the trunk of the tree. Then I cut x's in the center of each circle, and put them on the dowel, biggest ones on the bottom and smaller as they go up the tree. Because I didnt have any green paint, I mixed some with blue and yellow in a plant spray bottle. I added some glitter to the paint and shook it well, and then sprayed it on the tree. Here it is so far--not yet compleated.

In the magazine, Martha sewed little cloth animal ornaments to put on the top--I just cut a star from paper. I think I will paint it silver, or glue aluminum foil to it.

More Pictures of Recycle the Rooster

All a sudden I am wordy. Just when I need to go to bed. But here is the Rooster I have been working on for a recycled art project I am submitting to Gallery 125 in Trenton. It is the image of a Rooster that was on a chicken feed bag glued to a cardboard box from an item I purchased. I glued collage to the front and some on the back (not done yet). Then I punched holes on the edges of the rooster cut out and put oval shaped jump rings through each hole.
To be continued...
